DEATH VALLEYS RARE SUPER BLOOM

After camping in the beautiful mountain area of Bishop, CA there was one more adventure to be had, Death Valley and it's rare mega bloom. It only happens once every 10 years. We drove for hours to find the gold yellow wild flowers blooming in the desert. Thousands and thousands stretching across vast open space.  Fields and fields of yellow amongst the ever changing desert back drop.  It was so beautiful, it was as if I'd been transported to another planet this area of the world seemed so uninhabitable and yet it was the most incredible kind of beauty. Miles and miles of vastness, it was something that would go on after me and was there before me.

The stars rose that night in Death Valley, we walked like little ants amongst much bigger things.  Giant rocks, giant crevices desert that went on and on.  Looking up at the billions and billions of stars, I felt quite small, but in my place by nature.  I felt completely at ease because I was part of this world, part of the dirt, part of the rocks, part of the yellow flowers and part of the stars.
